Roth Campaign: Kagen returns home to reality

Appleton – Because current 8th District Congressman Steve Kagen prefers to hide behind Nancy Pelosi, unannounced town hall meetings and listening sessions and the 900 miles that separate his district from Washington, the Roth Campaign is delivering a 10 point reality check to northeast Wisconsin citizens who want to know the real Steve Kagen as he returns home for the Memorial Day Recess:

1. Kagen has earned a ‘0’ rating from the National Right to Life Committee

2. Kagen has earned a ‘0’ rating from Americans for Tax Reform

3. Kagen has a dismal 7% rating from the non-partisan National Taxpayers Union

4. Kagen has an equally sorry 8% rating from Citizens Against Government Waste

5. Kagen claims he’s for Pay- Go, yet the debt has risen to a staggering $13 trillion under his watch

6. Kagen said he’s for main street, yet he’s taken campaign cash from top executives at Soros Fund Management—a company that profited from the collapse of the housing market by betting against collateralized debt obligations

7. Kagen voted with the Democrat majority in Congress 98.2 percent of the time

8. Kagen voted for Cap and Trade legislation that will cripple northeast Wisconsin’s farming and manufacturing industries—even after going on record as saying he wouldn’t!

9. Kagen voted to raise the debt ceiling to $14 trillion

10. Kagen proudly proclaimed to have written ObamaCare which raises premiums by 13 percent and creates $120 billion in new taxes and $311 billion in new spending

“From Appleton to Presque Isle, citizens of the 8th District are looking for a leader and a fighter who will get America back on track by ending our addiction to spending, focusing on private sector job creation and securing our borders,” said state Representative Roger Roth, candidate for Congress in Wisconsin’s 8th District.
