Purifying your Mind

By Carol Pociecha-Palm

A few months ago, my friend asked if I knew about PureFlix movies. I admitted that I had not, but then I became curious about them so I decided to watch a few their movies. I chose to watch The Book of Ruth and The Book of Esther. It was a pleasant surprise when I discovered the movies more than met my expectations. The biblical stories of Ruth and Esther came alive for me.

Living in the information age, it is may be overwhelming for most people to decide which media to tune into. There are so many entertainment, educational and news options. Researching this topic opened a door for me. As a result, I am in conversations with trusted friends and colleagues about truthful and honest entertainment, educational and news media.

Entertainment Reviews

Deciding on family entertainment is easier if you take some time to consider The Dove Foundation reviews. Dove.org main mission is to help families by providing conservative insight and information for wholesome family entertainment. The reviews you will find on Dove.org are based on Christian values so that families can make informed decisions about which movies, DVDs and books best suit their interests and values.

Dove offers a content grid for fast and easy assessment of various criteria. The criteria include: Faith (positive measure), Integrity (positive measure), Sexuality (negative measure), Language (negative measure), Violence (negative measure), Drugs (negative measure), Nudity (negative measure), and Other i.e. disrespect for authority, lying, cheating, stealing, illegal activity etc.(negative measure). I recommend you check this site out when you are deciding on your next movie or book choice for either yourself or a family member. Truthful News

As far as news content, the AGENDA Weekly agendaweekly.com is an informative weekly briefing which provides a concise summary of truthful news. So if you don’t have the time to review numerous conservative news sites, Curtis Bower will do the research for you. He summarizes the top 10-15 main issues happening in America each week. He provides the sources so if you are interested in delving deeper into a topic you will have the source. There is a weekly video interview with Curtis Bower, helpful resources, prayer lists and action bullets. If you want to hear the current events from a spiritual perspective I highly recommend you subscribe for only $5.00 per month.

When I was a child, I remember my grandmother taking me to a movie theater to watch “The Sound of Music”. After the movie ended, my grandma told me how nice it was to watch such a wonderful movie together. The right choices in entertainment, news and educational media can result in lasting memorable moments in our life and that of our family.
