Steve’s Say . . . Wisconsin Activist Army Displays It’s Power Once Again

The victory of Leah Vukmir in the Wisconsin US Senate primary last night demonstrated once again that the Wisconsin Activist Army has the back of any of their elected officials that displays the political courage necessary to destroy entrenched leftist policies and replace them with conservatives government reforms. Just like in 2016, when the intellectual establishment had all but anointed Russ Feingold as the returning Leftist maverick to the US Senate, the Activist Army defended their own Ron Johnson with a crushing 53-47% win over Feingold. Johnson never trailed in the contest the entire night, and neither did Vukmir. While winning a Republican Party primary differs greatly from winning the November senatorial election, this primary win again demonstrated that money and media buys do not win elections - votes do. Kevin Nicholson along with his financial backers and PACs spent enormous sums (more than $10 million) challenging Vukmir for the nomination compared to a paltry $2 million supporting Leah. Yet she won decisively. So take this lesson and data to heart - the polls are not data nor are they reliable in any way. TV and radio ads are no match for grassroots activism. Records matter, as do moral values, work ethic, and a willingness to try new approaches. Kevin Nicholson displayed many of these qualities and certainly presented himself as an attractive candidate with a compelling personal story. Hopefully he will continue to engage with our Army and become an important leader in our ranks. We need him.

In the end the Wisconsin Activist Army chose someone who has been in their ranks since the beginning. Leah fought in the trenches throughout the 2010 elections, the 2011 Act 10 battle, the 2012 Walker Recall, and every other conservative victory since.

Will the “Blue Wave” hit Wisconsin in November? Looking at all of the Wisconsin electoral data since 2010, the Activist Army proved its political influence over and over again, including getting a Trump win in 2016. If we all continue to do our jobs as we have done since we all got started back in the old days of 2009-2010 there is no logical reason to believe we cannot achieve the same outcome we provided to Senator Johnson for Leah Vukmir. Always keep in mind that Leftist (mainstream) Media sells fake news - nothing they say can be credibly believed based upon past experience including polls. They aim to drive conservatives into apathy and despair. Tune all of that noise out. Governor Walker’s recorded of accomplishment rivals any governor in history anywhere in the USA. Yet pundits claim he may be in trouble. He’s only in trouble if the Army abandons their posts. I am confident Walker will get his 53% as he deserves. Apparently the other 47% does not have common sense to appeal to. As J.R. Ross exclaimed on the Jay Weber show the other day discussing the conventional talk that both Walker and incumbent Senator Baldwin win with 53%, “I can’t picture who this Walker-Baldwin crossover voter looks like.” Nor do we Mr. Ross. That voter doesn’t exist.

Look forward to the oncoming November battle. Trump support, both given by him and embraced by candidates, will be crucial. Hopefully he makes a couple of appearances in our state before then. Republicans throughout Wisconsin in both state and federal races will do well if they follow this formula. We’ve done it before many times. There is no reason we cannot run the entire table this time. We have the horses. Lets get them to a full gallop.
