Steve’s Say . . . Scott Walker: The Teacher’s and Union’s Best Friend

I look forward to every future discussion with the malcontent crybabies known as Wisconsin educators in support of the recall effort of Governor Walker. I look forward to explaining to them why Governor Scott Walker has been the best thing that could have ever happened to them and that he is, in fact, their best friend.

C’mon Steve. Your kidding. We all know Walker really screwed the teachers. You just support him because you’re jealous of all that they have won though their union’s efforts.

Wrong.

You see, Walker’s unique understanding among politicians, based upon his experience as Milwaukee County executive, allowed him to craft a plan to actually solve the fiscal calamity left by our previous Governor Jim Doyle. He provided the necessary tools so all districts could retain teachers and even expand educational opportunities.

The truth of this successful plan cannot be factually disputed and is fully documented at Reforms.wi.gov. Despite the Department of Public Instruction’s (DPI) attempt to sandbag reality in their bogus report last month, the undisputed facts are that all but three school districts were able to balance their budgets without laying off teachers and in fact hired more in many instances especially when declining enrollments are considered. The three districts (Kenosha, Milwaukee and Janesville) all renewed contracts prior to the Budget Repair bill, full well knowing the future consequences. These three districts did the bidding of the union, not their taxpayers, nor their educational consumers.

No, Scott Walker is the Teacher’s best friend. He signed the Emancipation Proclamation, the part of the Budget Repair Law revoking mandatory union membership for public school teachers. The union can no longer extort money from teachers who do not share their political ideology nor want to support any of their activities or union bosses’ salaries. Teachers are no longer mandated by Wisconsin Law to be slaves of the union. How did such a law completely in conflict with the personal freedoms enshrined in the state and US constitution ever become law?

Easy. Because the Teacher’s union is a criminal enterprise. A Syndicate.

Webster defines a syndicate as “a loose association of racketeers in control of organized crime.” Racketeers are “ones who extort money or advantages by threats of violence, by blackmail, or by unlawful interference with business or employment.” Wow. Sickouts resulting in widespread school closures (illegal strikes) then obtaining and submitting bogus Union Grove, death threats to the Governor and other lawmakers, violation of assembly laws and permit requirements, destruction of public property, etc. etc. etc. I don’t think I could have characterized the activities of the Teacher’s union and their allies since February so completely. Thank you Mr. Webster.

So in addition to racketeering, what are the crimes of this syndicate? I offer to you this partial list:

Larceny: “the unlawful taking and carrying away of personal property with intent to deprive the rightful owner of his property permanently - THEFT”

Money Laundering: the process of legitimizing moneys obtained through illegitimate sources

Fraud: “intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right - Deceit, Trickery”

Bribery: “money or favor given or promised to a person in a position of trust to influence his judgment or conduct”

Extortion: “one obtaining from a person by force or undue or illegal power or ingenuity”

The little WEAC scheme whereby they created a dummy insurance provider subsidiary exemplifies all of these heinous crimes against the people. Many local teacher union affiliates extorted school districts to purchase their health insurance policies through this dummy subsidiary. These policies could have been purchased from other sources for much less. WEAC pocketed as much as $9000 per policy which was used almost exclusively for leftist political action, i.e. paying off politicians, almost exclusively Democrats. In any other world, save the politically protected class paid for by unlimited union donations and media support, the perpetrators of this scheme would be sitting in prison.

The politicians facilitating such a crime syndicate to exist and be above the law need to be called to account. The syndicate could not exist without them. They belong in prison.

And the teachers and administrators are not without blame.

The educational product put out by MPS, fittingly described as a complete and total failure, would be considered a complete and total fraud in any free market enterprise. These schools continue to chew up more and more tax dollars while their advertised product, literate high school graduates, becomes more scarce daily. The abysmal graduation rate along with student test results rivals only that of DETROIT.

The idiotic dogma of man-made carbon dioxide destroying the planet along with the revisionist history of America as the cradle of slavery and bigotry of the world continue to be taught and spread by teachers throughout the public school system. Both are complete lies. No attention is given to the wisdom of the constitution, nor to free market economics. Heck, if they taught basic mathematics, reading and writing instead of their politically correct, feel good curriculum, some graduates might become employable or go on to some form of higher education instead of becoming another empty mind for the next community organizer to exploit. This is truly educational fraud.

The Teachers give the union their power. The union buys political favoritism for their membership while providing lavish salaries and perks for union insiders. The teachers trade their dues money and individualism for this purchase of politicians. The successful union like WEAC then uses that political power to extract additional money and liberty from the population as the health insurance scheme showed us. Scott Walker did nothing more than truncate this selfdestructive spiral of bribery, theft, extortion and slavery.

Mandatory union participation for teachers lessens the culpability of those who oppose this liberty infringement. Unfortunately, the highly visceral environment, cultivated by the union supporters, has cowed these folks. Just seeing the vitriol union teachers have spat at the individuals supporting Walker’s plan in his TV commercials tells the whole story. And we all have more intimate, personal examples of the widespread entitled discontent of the union teachers we know or have dealt with. Teachers engaging in racketeering deserve a place in prison right alongside their union masters.

No, Scott Walker is truly the union teacher’s best friend. He is much more tolerant, practical and forgiving than many of his supporters like myself. Had I been in Scott Walker’s position, there would be no more healthcare benefits nor pension payments. I would have no problem firing many, most or all teachers to address the realities of this failed public education system. And a universal voucher system for all children would be immediately implemented. Union, what union?

The taxpayers, parents and children of Wisconsin deserve much better from their educational system. The teachers and their union have shown who they are over the last 35 years. Their record speaks for itself. Scott Walker did what had to be done to actually begin dealing with the problem in a real way. If the malcontent teachers and their union masters don’t come to this realization soon and quit their criminal antics and electoral nonsense, they will end up getting what they will truly earn - no more jobs, pensions or healthcare benefits and a long-term reservation in the prison system.
