Roth Campaign:Taxpayer Money Used to Help Illegals get Paid

Appleton—At the expense of American taxpayers, the U.S. Labor Department has launched a national, bilingual ad campaign that offers assistance to illegal immigrants who believe they aren’t being properly compensated at work.

“What kind of message does this send to those who are in our country illegally as well as those who seek to sneak across our borders undetected?” state Representative and candidate for Congress Roger Roth asked a group of voters in Appleton.

“Everyday I talk to northeast Wisconsin citizens who have been out of work for months, and what is our federal government doing about it? Spending your hard earned tax dollars to reach out to illegal immigrants and offer them a hand in claiming wages that are being made unlawfully,” said Roth.

The ad—which is produced in both Spanish and English—seemingly contradicts existing labor law which states that employers may only hire workers who are legally in America.

“We have a government in Washington that no longer listens to the people they represent, and this is just further proof that, instead of trying everything in their power to get Americans working again, they are concerned about the rights of illegal immigrants,” Roth said.
