A Christian View of Masks

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:17

By Riley J. Hood—Milwaukee County Constitution Party

I was told from the pulpit that wearing a mask is loving your neighbor. That can be true in limited circumstances, the elderly or those with compromised immune systems, or respiratory diseases may feel more comfortable around people wearing masks, and the feeling part is where it ends. Masks are as ineffectual at stopping a virus as condoms are at stopping VD.

It seems to me like a dodge, and while I am not critical of the elder’s motives, it suddenly became “love your neighbor” when the City of Milwaukee took out billboards saying “Love your neighbor, wear a mask.” The City of Milwaukee advertises the same thing about condoms. This isn’t about love, or truth, it is about socialist control, and every time the City of Milwaukee wants to browbeat believers, they put up love your neighbor billboards. “Love your Sikh neighbor” as if Christians ordered the Sikh Temple shooting. “Love your Islamic neighbor” “Love your Gay Neighbor:” all at the expense of your love for God.

There are some Biblical principles regarding masks. Namely masks are for the sick. According to the Bible, which defines both Love and Truth, it was the sick, namely lepers who were to cover their faces. “And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.” Leviticus 13:45

I should dare say that just because this virus was

recently discovered doesn’t mean it is brand new, it existed before, we just didn’t know it. Everything wasn’t panic and alarm, neither should it be now. Disease and the flu kill the elderly every year, especially in the winter. If the media, hypocrites that they are kept track other common cold cases, those numbers would be astronomically high. Some people die of the common every year, not with the cold but from the cold, no one went on a love your neighbor campaign about that.

We need leaders that love their neighbor in Biblical terms, not socialist terms. Those terms include, not punishing the innocent, not quarantining the healthy, and treating people as individuals with souls, rather than as groups on a social justice totem pole.

My friend Pastor Matt Trewhella spoke against masks, saying the Nazi’s started with small things like park bench restrictions, before they graduated to murder. Pastor Matt was excoriated by liberals for telling them the truth. Some called him antisemitic, which is bunk, but socialists don’t like having arguments made against what they are doing. Masks are trivial, but Tony Evers will try to get away with more, He already has, when he tyrannically ordered Churches to close. I was one who protested to reopen Wisconsin, the hate-filled LaKeisha Meyers, and her fellow socialists called us swastika carrying white-men, complete rubbish made up out of whole cloth. The people that should learn about love your neighbor are socialists, who love themselves in the people’s name.
