Seperation of Church and State: It’s our own fault

by Joshua Tolley

Today, while eating my lunch, I was listening to the radio when a story came on the news break.

A parent is suing the school district in which his daughter goes to school. The reason? The school has a break for students to pray (if they want to). The father is stating that the break is for Christian students to have prayer time, which he claims is in violation of the separation of church and state law. He continues to say the teachers are interrupting teaching the students, which is what they are being paid to do with his tax dollars, thus using those public tax dollars to fund the illegal action of prayer.

This story hit me hard (I’m actually writing this ON that lunch break). How did we get here? How did this LIE of “Separation of Church and State” get this out of hand? Was the opposition that talented? Based on their lack of logic and evidence in their case, one would have to say no.

Then what was it?

It was us, the Christians that brought this upon our Christian country. Yes, I said Christian country. Whoever thinks this country isn’t…well...wasn’t a Christian country needs to attend 5th grade history. Are YOU smarter than a fifth grader?

Our lack of belief, faith, reason and manhood has allowed those who would love to ignore truth and fact to have a window of opportunity to take the ground we held since the foundation of our country, and use it as a foot hold to break away at our heritage.

Ask yourself who is more to blame in this situation, those who did their job to oppose a belief, or those who failed to do theirs in standing up for it?

So what’s the point? Well, too often believers in the Lord hear the news of Christendom losing the battle for our true heritage, and we worry about the fairness of “their” tactics. STOP. Instead, look upon yourself and ask “What did I do to hold my ground today?”

Listen: we have fact, logic and a written track record on our side. For us to lose ground to a group that lacks these fore mentioned assets is borderline negligence on our part.

Stop whining and start winning.
